"Dog people, you need this book. I absolutely loved this. It spoke to me as a human owned by a dog in so many ways. Seriously, I could easily see myself in many of the situations and circumstances described, from walking the dog to talking to it, to all the highs and lows that come with being owned by a pet...this is an easy read, rather like sitting in the living room with our dogs sprawled across our laps soaking up the scratches and attention. You know, kinda like friends talking." June Price, Sunhusky's Daisy Reads 2

I absolutely loved this book. As the owner of a black and tan Dachshund myself, I really connected with the adventures and stories these two had to tell, they felt so true to life! The way Davenport captures those familiar little moments, like the cheeky begs for treats or the gentle resting of a head on your hand while you’re changing gear, was just perfect. I was geared up for a very sad ending and whilst certain of the inevitable final outcome, the end of this book actually left me in happy tears and cuddling my Bruce a little tighter as he curled around me.

It’s a warm, funny, and really touching book that shows such a real understanding of the breed. I’ll definitely be recommending it to the other dachshund owners I know, and to the lovely customers who come into my bookshop with their tippy tappy companions!” Charlotte F, NetGalley
